Seems like youth sports is a hot topic in the community. When did it get all crazy? Growing up it was way less intense. We were lucky if we played 14 baseball games a year and then possibly got selected for the All-Star team; now kids can play 100 games a year or more. Football began in fourth grade, not first or second grade. There were no clubs or travel teams in basketball, wrestling, soccer, or volleyball. Most of us were lucky to have a parent drive us to practice and games. Is it the parents pushing the sports on kids or are the kids asking for these clubs and more games? Should we be starting math clubs, writing clubs, future doctor, engineer, and attorney clubs instead of all these sports clubs? Just wondering when we will realize that other countries' kids are passing ours up in academics which will make their lives harder.

  2. Yes I agree that parents nowadays are psycho with these travel and club teams. If your kid's got it they got it. I think 1 in 10,000 make it pro. Wake up.
